Buzzing to announce my Essential Mix will be on air this Saturday February 18th, 2023 on BBC Radio One.
Since I moved back to Manchester I’ve spent the last seven years building up to this: mixing for and appearing on various shows on 6 Music and Radio 2, then doing big girl pants stand in shows on 6Music. Now for the big one – the Essential Mix on Radio One – that spiritual home of DJ mixes. It is a great honour and not gonna lie I had a massive panic attack about it. It has a rave heart, lyrically tells my story and joins the dots between old and new / the divine feminine and alpha male / disco, acid, house and tech / sweet and salty. No sync buttons were harmed in the making of this mix and it was recorded in one take.
