It is my greatest honour to receive the DJ Mag Top 100 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award. I accepted this award on behalf of Manchester – it’s such a rare occasion when anything like this is awarded North of Watford plus I have a sneaking suspicion that I am the first woman (black woman) to win it which makes it even more special and historic. This is also to prove that you don’t have to be an Instagram influencer with millions of followers to make your mark. If you can make a difference, be fearless and make a difference. This is also for anyone who gets knocked down nine times and stands up ten. I see you. And so do they.
This Is DJ Mag’s ‘Black Representation in the UK Dance Music Industry’ #paneldiscussion from the BRIGHTON MUSIC CONFERENCE. Set an hour aside for you to view and reflect.

DJ Magazine celebrates it’s first, new print copy with ‘Dance Music Is Black Music’ an issue with a 33 page cover section that sets out their pledge dedicated to fighting racism within their organisation and throughout the dance music industry and to more fully and fairly exploring the black experience across the spectrum of the music industry. ANZ and I have an isolation conversation about our experiences across the generations.
Glastonbury Festival as we know it did not happen this year, but in amongst the timber, paint and theatre props at Block9’s London warehouse HQ, a broadcast ran from 9pm till 3am showcasing DJ sets from Norman Jay MBE, Heidi , DJ Paulette and Batu_music for each of their Glastonbury Festival venues – Maceo’s, NYC Downlow, Genosys and IIcon. This is your link to view the show again.
