Welcome to Press Play! – A new concept for Twitch, where DJs share their genre-non conforming knowledge, beats and basslines. I went as wide as I could with the brief without cranking out some heavy punk realness (next time), to serve up a selection of origins and influences that I saved my paper round, part time job and pocket money to buy and add to my record collection. These are the tunes that soundtracked my youth, family parties, first forays into nightclubs and that made me the obsessed music lover and DJ that I am today.
It’s an all the way LIVE game of 90 minutes that nearly didn’t make it to air thanks to my Anker Hub exploding and my not having a back up (a lesson learned, back up bought and thank you full moon). But after half an hour of nerve wracking, technical jiggery pokery – the lovely (and very patient) Dave Brown Face Timed me and helped to get my WFH set up right back on air … for that I owe him a great debt of gratitude.
