Congratulations to my friend Jaguar Bingham on launching her new podcast series ‘Utopia Talks’. So honoured and proud to have sat around the virtual table with her, Lauren Flax and Sophia Kearney (Weird and The Wonderful) to discuss the issue of sexual misconduct and abuse in the music industry.
In her own words:
Welcome to the first Utopia Talks Podcast. Utopia is a perfect moment. It’s togetherness. It’s a community. The Utopia Talks podcast is a reactive discussion of hot topics and issues that millennials are engaging with in dance music culture and the wider world. Hosted by DJ and broadcaster Jaguar, it is a launchpad for further discussion by giving young people a voice, and inspiring the next generation to help us achieve a utopian world.
We’d like to thank our guests Lauren Flax, DJ Paulette and He.She.They’s Sophia Kearney for a compelling, open and honest discussion on the realities and complexities of sexual assault. It’s been a distressing time around the allegations of the late Erick Morillo and this podcast aims to unpack a very complex situation, give victims a voice and help bring about change.
