Throughout October 2021, Home is releasing exclusive online interviews with Black creatives exploring what it’s like to be a Black creative working in the arts and cultural sector today. These 10-minute open conversations will help emerging creatives gain an insight into the careers and backgrounds of Black creatives/artists within the industry.
The focus of the Black History Month 2021 series will be “Black women in the creative industry“.
We’ll be asking creative professionals to talk about their careers, highlights and aspirations, and their opinions on opportunities for Black women within the field. Join us in celebrating their work, achievements and hearing their advice to young Black creatives.
The creatives taking part will be:
- Venessa Scott: interview release week commencing 11 October
- DJ Paulette: interview released week commencing 25 October – trigger warning – this interview mentions trauma and assault.
- Karen Gabay: interview released week commencing 5 Nov
This is my film. Trigger warning – discusses trauma and sexual assault.
